Kayli Lopez Oak Cliff Shooting, Death, Obituary Dallas
DALLAS — A 24-year-old woman was killed Tuesday evening after gunfire erupted along a busy stretch of South Zang Boulevard in Central Oak Cliff. Police identified the victim as Kayli Lopez, who was riding in a Cadillac SUV when another vehicle approached and fired at least 36 shots into it around 7:45 p.m. near Wynnewood Village.
The barrage forced the SUV into a collision with another car. Officers arriving at the 2200 block of South Zang found Lopez critically wounded. She later died at a hospital. A 21-year-old male companion survived the shooting but remains under medical care.
Investigators say no suspect has been identified and the motive remains unclear. Detectives are reviewing evidence and interviewing witnesses as the case develops. Information regarding Lopez’s funeral, memorial service, and official obituary will be announced shortly.
