Ron and Barbara Timmermans Plane Crash Murchson, TX Death, Obituary: Tragic Loss

A routine flight ended in heartbreak Wednesday evening when a small aircraft crashed near Murchison, claiming the lives of veteran aviators Ron and Barbara Timmermans. The couple, widely respected within aviation circles, were pronounced dead at the scene following the 5:13 p.m. accident. Miraculously, a dog aboard the aircraft survived.

Authorities said the pair had declared an in-flight emergency after reporting oil on the windshield. The aircraft, a 1994 Beech A36 single-engine plane, attempted to divert but struck power lines and crashed short of the runway in the Brownsboro area. The National Transportation Safety Board is expected to investigate the crash, documenting the scene before the wreckage is recovered for further evaluation.

Ron and Barbara were the owners and operators of AileRon T LLC, based in Orlando. Both were experienced pilots, admired for their professionalism and unwavering passion for flight.

Ron Timmermans devoted decades to aviation and instruction. Since 2017, he volunteered as a host with the Florida Aviation Network, conducting interviews at premier events such as Sun ‘n Fun and EAA AirVenture. Named National Certified Flight Instructor of the Year in 2021, he logged more than 4,000 hours of dual instruction and mentored countless aspiring pilots. He often credited Barbara for inspiring him to pursue flight instruction.

Together, the Timmermans leave behind a legacy defined by dedication, expertise, and a shared love of aviation that touched lives across the country.
