West Monroe Freightliner Crash
WEST MONROE — A catastrophic collision on I‑20 Thursday morning killed two truckers and left a lasting reminder about roadway safety. Clinton Warren, 46, of Vina, Alabama, and his passenger Nelson Okuoimose, 45, of Laveen, Arizona, were unrestrained in a blue 2012 Freightliner when it drifted into the path of a white 2013 Freightliner box truck.
The crash hurled both trucks into the median and concrete supports near the Vancil Road bridge. Warren and Okuoimose were pronounced dead at the scene, while the second truck’s driver, who was belted, walked away with minor injuries. Louisiana State Police troopers and local first responders investigated the collision, reporting no signs of impairment and collecting routine samples.
Families and communities are mourning the loss, and advocates are emphasizing the life-saving value of seat belts. Funeral arrangements, memorial services, and obituaries will be released soon.
