In Loving Memory of Paula Victor-Lopez, Carlos Lopez-Estrada, and Michelle Courts: Family Mourns Sad Loss

Paula Victor-Lopez, 79; Carlos Lopez-Estrada, 70; and Michelle Courts, 66, tragically lost their lives in an incident on Saturday morning in west Olympia. Olympia authorities confirmed that the event does not pose a continuing risk to the community.

According to police reports, officers responded at approximately 10:40 a.m. to a home in the 2300 block of 19th Court Northwest following reports of an argument and gunfire. Two individuals were found inside the home and one outside. Thurston County Coroner Gary Warnock identified the deceased, noting Carlos and Paula were spouses and Michelle was a close friend of Paula’s. While preliminary information suggests a potential murder-suicide, the investigation remains active in coordination with the coroner and the Washington State Patrol forensics team.

Paula, Carlos, and Michelle are remembered for the positive impact they had on their families and community. Paula’s warmth and empathy, Carlos’ loyalty and devotion, and Michelle’s supportive friendship left lasting impressions on those around them.

The family will announce information regarding obituary, memorial, funeral, and visitation services at a later time. Condolences and support are extended to all affected by this heartbreaking loss.
