Estafania Dilone death, obituary Kearny, New Jersey

KEARNY, N.J. — The untimely death of Estafania Dilone, 25, has deeply affected the Kearny community. Dilone, a former collegiate basketball athlete of notable distinction, was fatally injured in a single-vehicle accident early Saturday morning in Newark.

Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens II stated that the collision transpired at approximately 2:00 a.m. on Route 21 in proximity to Riverside Avenue. Preliminary witness testimony suggests that the northbound vehicle, traveling on an elevated roadway, became airborne, traversed a highway barrier, overturned, and ultimately landed on Riverside Avenue. Emergency responders arriving at the scene found Dilone confined within the vehicle. Following extraction, she was transported to Newark University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The passenger sustained minor facial injuries and was admitted for medical care.

Dilone earned a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Bloomfield College and was widely recognized for her accomplishments in collegiate basketball. At the time of her passing, she was employed by a sportswear enterprise.

Authorities have confirmed that the circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation. The family will announce obituary, memorial, and funeral details at a later date.
