Rayven Amuan Edwards Tragic Shooting Glover Park Death, Obituary: In Loving Memory
A violent confrontation on Wednesday afternoon in Glover Park claimed the life of 34-year-old Rayven Amuan Edwards and left her 10-year-old daughter injured but surviving. Edwards, a mother of two, was fatally shot inside her home by her estranged partner, Stephon Marquis Jeter, during a domestic dispute.
When police arrived on the scene shortly before 5 p.m., they found Edwards dead from multiple gunshot wounds. Her daughter was also shot but received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries, while her 8-year-old son, who witnessed the horror, was left unharmed.
The suspect, Jeter, fled with Edwards’ 3-year-old son, Million, prompting a widespread search and an AMBER Alert. Officers traced Jeter to Prince George’s County, where a high-speed chase ensued, ultimately ending when his car crashed in southeast Washington. Jeter was found dead from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound, while Million was safely recovered at a family member’s home.
Edwards’ death and the subsequent events have left the Glover Park community reeling. Many are left to remember a bright, loving mother whose life was tragically cut short. Her 10-year-old daughter’s recovery is a small comfort, as the community now rallies around the family left to cope with the loss.
The violence has raised questions about domestic abuse and the legacy of gun violence, particularly in a neighborhood that has always been considered safe. Rayven Edwards’ memory, marked by her love for her children, will endure in the hearts of those who knew her.
