Shawn Lezama Fatal Shooting Curepe Death, Obituary: Rest In Peace

The quiet streets of Curepe were shattered in the early hours of February 11 when gunfire claimed the life of 47-year-old Shawn Lezama outside his home on Mc Donald Street. The fatal shooting has left residents stunned and grieving, while police continue an active investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

According to reports, Lezama’s common-law wife was awakened around 5:30 a.m. by the sound of multiple gunshots. Rushing outside, she discovered him lying unresponsive near their residence. In a desperate effort to save him, she and a neighbour transported him to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt. Hope. Despite their swift actions, he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Authorities have not yet disclosed a motive and are working to identify those responsible. Investigators are appealing to anyone with information to come forward as they piece together the events that led to the fatal attack.

Lezama’s death has intensified concerns about violent crime within the community and across Trinidad and Tobago. Neighbours described the incident as deeply unsettling, noting that such acts of violence strike at the sense of safety families depend upon.
